The BioProtect project is preparing to celebrate a major milestone: its first birthday! To mark the occasion, the consortium will hold its First General Assembly Meeting on 6-8 May 2025, in Iceland—home to one of the project’s Demonstration Sites and a fitting location to reflect on progress and plan the next phase of work.
You are welcome to join our open session on 6th of May from 9 am – 11 am, Icelandic time (11 am CEST time).
The meeting will bring together all project partners in person, providing a valuable opportunity to share updates, strengthen collaboration, and align on key objectives. The agenda will include presentations on scientific activities, stakeholder engagement, communication, and policy integration, as well as interactive workshops to encourage cross-cutting discussions.
Set against the backdrop of Iceland’s unique marine environment, the event will also highlight the importance of local context in the project’s efforts to enhance the protection and restoration of marine biodiversity across Europe’s Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
As BioProtect enters its second year, this General Assembly marks an exciting moment for reflection, connection, and renewed commitment to the project’s goals.
